The Malaysia Gold Association (MGA) has hosted notable global precious metals leaders and industry players from varied countries at the 2nd Edition Malaysia Gold Conference 2024, here at JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, recently. The event was graced by Senator Puan Hajah Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, who honoured the event with a keynote speech applauding MGA for the great efforts in organizing such significant event, while emphasizing on the importance of learning from renowned speakers to drive local precious metals industry to greater heights.

Persatuan Emas Malaysia (MGA) mengunjurkan harga emas naik kepada A$2,200 setiap auns troy (AS$1=RM4.76) pada tahun ini daripada AS$2,030 pada masa ini berikutan permintaan yang meningkat terhadap logam itu.
Presidennya, Datuk Louis Ng menjelaskan, permintaan meningkat itu disebabkan bank pusat membeli emas sebagai lindung nilai terhadap mata wang.

The Malaysia Gold Association (MGA) gathered significant global precious metals leaders and industry players from several nations at the 2nd Edition Malaysia Gold Conference 2024 on Wednesday.
MGA president Datuk Wira Louis Ng said the key to success was to have the ability to properly understand how to unlock the potential of gold in any part of the world.

大马黄金协会主席拿督威拉黄俊豪指出，如果政府要对黄金征收奢侈品税，希望可以调高征税的门槛。他说，黄金不会受到SST调高的影响，因为黄金目前隶属奢侈品税的范畴，不过，他促请政府更谨慎地制定细节。
坊间传言，征税门槛将会在1万令吉，我们希望政府将门槛调高至5万令吉，税率落在5%。” 他坦言，希望政府聆听行业的心声，若是奢侈品税的门槛若草草拟定，必定会重创整个黄金行业。 黄俊豪今天是在“第二届大马黄金峰会”上，发表这个看法。
Gold price to average US$2,059 an ounce this year, up 6% from 2023: Expert

The average price of gold is projected to increase by 6.1% in 2024 to US$2,059 (RM9,806) per ounce (28.35 grams) compared with the average price of US$1,940.54 (RM9241.82) in 2023, said London Bullion Market Association (LBMA).
According to its senior adviser, Jeremy East, the expected increment in gold prices will be underpinned by three main drivers – US monetary policy, central bank activity and geopolitical risks.

Permintaan untuk emas dijangka kekal kukuh dengan harga diunjurkan AS$2,200 seaun tahun ini, kata Presiden Persatuan Emas Malaysia, Datuk Wira Louis Ng.
Beliau berkata, prospek pasaran logam berharga itu terus kukuh berikutan persekitaran ekonomi global yang tidak menentu mendorong belian terhadap emas sebagai aset selamat.
Katanya, faktor seperti konflik geopolitik di Asia Barat dan Ukraine-Russia juga mendorong permintaan tinggi terhadap emas.

The Malaysia Gold Association (MGA) is predicting gold price to increase to US$2,200 per troy ounce (US$1=RM4.76) this year from US$2,030 currently amid an increasing demand for the metal.
MGA president Datuk Louis Ng explained that the rising gold demand is due to central banks buying gold as a hedge against currencies.
Also there is a war in the Middle East and the Russian-Ukraine war, so the demand for gold is very high,” he told the media on the sidelines of the Malaysia Gold Conference (MGC) 2024 here today.
