He is currently a Member of the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) of Bank Negara Malaysia, the apex Shariah body for Islamic finance in the country. He also serves as Chairman of the Shariah Committees of several major financial institutions, including the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

Internationally, Datuk Prof. Dr. Akram sits on the Shariah boards of various prominent organisations, such as Dubai Islamic Bank, International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM), Bahrain, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Lembaga Tabung Haji. His extensive experience and leadership in Shariah governance, Islamic jurisprudence, and financial advisory have made significant contributions to the global development of Islamic finance.

He is also attached to INCEIF University, where he plays a key role in academic research and talent development in Islamic finance.

En. Mohd Zikri Shairy is a seasoned professional with over 17 years of experience in Islamic finance, with a strong focus on Shariah governance, risk management, and Islamic social finance. He is currently the Director of Social Finance at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, where he leads initiatives integrating zakat, waqf, and sadaqah within the Islamic banking framework to uplift underbanked communities and promote financial inclusion.

He played a pivotal role in the development of innovative microfinance programmes such as iTekad BangKIT and iTEKAD Maju, which have supported over 1,000 micro-entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Earlier in his career, En. Zikri served as Chief Executive Officer of Amanie Advisors (Kuala Lumpur Office), where he was involved in international consultancy and product structuring. Notably, he was part of the core team that worked on the launch of the WGC-AAOIFI Shariah Standard on Gold, a landmark initiative to standardise the use of gold in Islamic finance globally.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Master of Comparative Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and has dedicated his career to advancing Islamic finance for social impact.

En Khairun Najmi Saripudin is a senior researcher at the International Shari'ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA)— Institute of INCEIF University, Malaysia. In ISRA Institute, he was mandated to undertake applied Shariah research and review the content of ISRA and INCEIF publications. Previously, he was with the Islamic Banking & Takaful Department, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) from the year 2012 until 2022, with an emphasis on serving as the secretary of the Shariah Advisory Council of BNM.

He is currently a member of the Shariah Committee of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad and Swiss Re Retakaful. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Shariah from the University of Malaya and obtained his Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) in 2013 from INCEIF.
